[222] 19th Royal Hussars (Queen Alexandra's Own)

The monogram of Queen Alexandra interlaced with the Danish Cross, bearing the date 1885.

[222E] 19th Hussars (badge worn 1898-1902)

This is the badge worn by the regiment between 1898-1902, it had throwback to the times when the 19th were an honourable East India Company Regiment. The design changed slightly in 1902, until in 1908 they cast aside the elehant and changed to the Dannebrog (Danish national device).

[16] 17th/21st Lancers

The famous Death's head capbadge is known in the Regiment as the motto.

Same badge as 17th Lancers [225] and the Queen's Royal Lancers [321].

[226] 21st Lancers (Empress of India's)

The 21st greatly distinguished themselves at the Battle of Khartoum in 1897, for which they were converted to Lancers and given the additional title of Empress of India's.
