[18] The Royal Armoured Corps

Formed in April 1939, as a parent corps to the Royal Tank Regiment, and to mechanised Cavalry regiments of the Line, later to be joined by the rest of the Cavalry and some Yeomanry units. After WWII the Corps reverted to its pre war parent status.
