Formed under Army Order 35 on 22nd March 1941. Became part of the Royal Logistic Corps in 1993.

[77] Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps
Formed on the Regular establishment under Army Order 5 of 1949, this was following on to the lead given by Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service, which itself was formed in 1902, mainly from the Army Nursing Service and the Nursing Reserve.

[78] Women's Royal Army Corps
The origins can be traced back to the Women's Auxiliary Corps, which was formed in 1917, for non combatant duties in France during WWI. The Women's Royal Army Corps was formed on 1st February 1949 under Army Order 6. The Corps was disbanded in 1992 with its members being dispersed amongst the Regiments and Corps of the British Army.

[ATS] Auxiliary Territorial Service
The Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) was the women's branch of the British Army during World War II. The ATS was formed on 9 September 1938, initially as a women's voluntary service, and existed until 1 February 1949.
