When the RRf was formed in 1968 from the amalgamation of the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, The Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers, the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) and the Lancashire Fusiliers; the hackle of the senior regiment was adopted to be worn by all the battalions, along with the capbadge of the fusilier brigade.
