The 2nd GR wear red facings in honour of a request made by the King's Royal Rifle Corps that the Sirmoor Rifles Regiment be permitted to conform to the dress of the 60th Rifles in honour of the English riflemen whom the Goorkhas served side by side with at the Siege of Delhi.
