Formed in 1968 from the amalgamation of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers the Royal Ulster Rifles and the Royal Irish Fusiliers (Princess Victoria's).

[44NIB] The North Irish Brigade (staybrite)
Formed by Army order 61, of 1948, the North Irish Brigade consisted of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, the Royal Uster Rifles and The Royal Irish Fusiliers (Princess Victoria's). On the formation of the Royal Irish Rangers in 1968, the badge stayed the same apart from the scroll wording.

Formed on 1st April 1970 for service in Northern Ireland.Merged with the Royal Irish Rangers in July 1992 to form the Royal Irish Regiment (27th (Inniskilling), 83rd, 87th Foot and the Ulster Defence Regiment).
