[383] The Royal Irish Regiment (18th)
Raised in 1684 as The Earl of Granard's Regiment of Foot, and titled the Regiment of Ireland in 1695. Became 18th (The Royal Irish) Foot in 1751. In 1881 as a result of the Cardwell reforms they dropped the number and became The Royal Irish Regiment. Disbanded in 1922 on the formation of the Irish Free State.

The Regiment was formed in 1881 by the combination of the 100th (Prince of wales's Royal Canadians and the 109th (Bombay Infantry) Regiment. Disbanded in 1922 on the formation of ther Irish Free State

Formed in 1881 as a result of the amalagamation of the 101st (Royal Bengal Fusiliers) and the 104th (Bengal Fusiliers). Disbanded in 1922 on the formation of the Irish Free State.

Formed in 1881 from the amalgamation of the 102nd (Royal Madras Fusiliers) and the 103rd (Royal Bombay Fusiliers). Disbanded on the creation of the Irish Free State in 1922.
