[263] The Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire)(47th/81st)
The loyal title came from the family motto of the first Colonel of the 81st Foot, Albermarle Berti, 9th Earl of Lindsey, who formed the Loyal Lincoln Volunteers in 1793.

The York and Lancashire Regiment was disbanded in 1968, the capbadge was affectionately known as 'the cat and cabbage'.
