[233] The Seaforth Highlanders (72nd/78th)
The motto stems back from a hunting incident in 1266 when the then Scottish King Alexander II, was knocked of his horse by an infuriated stag, the cry went up "Cuidich 'n Righ"(Help the King), as a result of this Colin Fitzgerald promptly severed the stags head with one blow before it could savage the King. When one of Fitzgeralds descendents formed the Seaforth Highlanders in 1793 the motto and the stags head badge was adopted.
