Formed in 1917 as part of Kitcheners Army, the 38th, 40th and 42nd Jewish Battalions, of The Royal Fusiliers were raised, the capbadge being the Menorah, the ceromonial seven-branched candlestick, with the Hebrew motto Kadimah.
