[SB226] The 21st Lancers (Empress of India's)
September 2nd is celebrated in the regiment as Khartoum Day, this is significant as the only battle honour gained by the 21st Lancers prior to World War I. The celebrated charge at the battle of Omdurman lifted the stigma and transformed Regimental image. Winston Churchill was present during this action.

Imphal Day (June 22nd) is celebrated in the West Yorkshire Regiment, to commemorate the raising of the Siege of Imphal by the 1st and 2nd Battalions in Burma 1944.

[SB239] The Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment (50th Foot)
One of the Regiments nicknames is 'The Dirty Half Hundred' this was acquiried by the 50th Regiment at the Battle of Vimiero in 1808, where, the day being hot and the fighting furious, the black dye ran out of coat cuffs when men wiped their sweating brows.
